The Environmental Review Process

In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Caltrans and SBCTA prepared an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the I-10 and I-15 Corridor Projects to evaluate and disclose the impacts they may have on the environment. For the I-10 Corridor Project, the final environmental document was approved by the SBCTA Board in July 2017. A draft EIR/EIS for the I-15 Corridor Project will be circulated in early 2018 to other agencies (Federal, State and local) and the public for review and comment before preparing the final EIR/EIS and approving the project. In support of the EIR/EIS, the following technical studies are conducted to analyze the potential environmental effects:
